We are really fortunate to cater fabulous events and Roosters Open Day on Saturday 29th July last year was no exception.
Roosters Brewery is situated at Grimbald Park in Knaresborough and started back in 1993 brewing ground breaking pale ales. Twenty five years on, they are award winning brewers for beers such as Yankee®, now considered a modern classic, gold medal winning YPA® and more recently bronze medalist Baby-Faced Assassin. You can read all about their history here. From cask to keg, bottles to cans they have a fantastic range of core beers and some limited edition ales as well. Full details of Roosters beers can be found on their website.
The front of the brewery was transformed into a beer garden complete with hay bales and barrels for seating and tables, with plenty of room for dancing once the band started! Around the edges of the beer garden were other vendors, and foodie stations.
A specialy built chicken shack (complete with a Rooster on the roof) for the Bar saw an ever changing selection of hand pulled ales that were available to purchase inbetween the Brewery Tours and having a bite to eat. The staff were great and smiled throughout the day depsite the seemingly neverending queues.
Our menu on the day was designed to accompany all the beers, and included beef marinaded in Rooster Londinium. Alongside we offered charcoal grilled Steak burgers and Wild Boar burgers, smoked jumbo Pork & Chiorizo sausage and rotisserie Lamb Kofta skewers, served in soft brioche rolls with a selection of cheese, sauces and salads. The demand was non-stop throughout the day with some comong back for more until they’d tried one of everything on the menu. Perfect to soak up the beer!
Visitors to the open day came from all over the region with some travelling from further afield from America and Australia. It was a family packed fun day with a really great party atmosphere and our food went down a storm. Looking forward to this years now!
