Montey’s Easter Sunday Pop Up!

Montey’s Easter Sunday Pop Up!

THE VENUE

Easter Sunday 1st April 2018 was part of the first long Bank Holiday weekend of the year and we were celebrating with a pop-up BBQ at Montey’s Rock Cafe in Harrogate. Situated down The Ginnel, this little gem of a bar is tucked in the heart of Harrogate’s Montpellier Quarter and is a mecca for live bands and classy cocktails.

As is the norm for Yorkshire Bank Holiday’s, wet weather and very cold temperatures greeted us as we set up for the day. With flatbed grill and rotisserie in place on the forecourt, under cover of a gazebo of course, we were raring to go.  The weather didn’t stop the punters from turning up at Montey’s to enjoy themselves and by lunchtime the place was heaving.

THE MENU

The menu for the day included Tempura battered Soft Shell Crab, Tandoori Chicken Wraps, Barbecue Pulled Pork with Tennessee Gravy, Duroc Pork Rib Eye, and Crayfish & Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese burgers. We also offered American Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Onion Bhaji’s, Charcoal roasted Sweet Potatoes, Butternut squash and Corn on the Cob with chipotle butter. A wide choice to suit all palettes. Waitress Service to tables inside was the order of the day using our best china and silverware. Live music was played throughout the day with sets from Empress and Rob Reynolds.

Evening service switched to take-away style allowing food to be eaten inside or out. Continually busy throughout the numbers ramped up even more in time for the evening performance from local rock band M.F.O.R. Great food, great music and great beer! Who could ask for more?

Last orders were called at midnight and we were sold out! We had a fabulous time. The venue was great and the management and staff at Montey’s were fantastic to work with. Looking forward to our next pop-up here!
